about

The AMLGC was formed in 1964 to further the sport of muzzle loading shooting. We are a family membership organization, incorporated as a non-profit organization, operated for the benefit of its members. We own and operate a range at La Coste, just west of San Antonio, Texas.

AMLGC continues to preserve traditions symbolized by the muzzle loading weapons and fosters appreciation of fine craftsmanship in such weapons by providing the friendly association of people sincerely interested in muzzle loading firearms, and various other shooting sports. The club provides contests to encourage marksmanship and also provides instruction and training to members. AMLGC strongly supports the second amendment to the Constitution of the United States.

The club’s range is a center for muzzle loading and black powder shooting. We have competitive shoots the first Sunday of every month, and also host black powder silhouette shoots, Civil War skirmish shoots, and the 4-H’s .22 caliber marksmanship program. Click here for the full shooting schedule.
